US Company To Launch 'Safe Sex Passport'

From Google News - US Company To Launch 'Safe Sex Passport' - Article Excerpt - A US company is poised to launch the world's first safe sex passport, aimed at giving users of dating and social networking websites extra "information protection," the man behind the idea said Wednesday.

"Some years ago I met an individual who had intercourse with someone they met online, who didn't disclose that they had an STD" or sexually transmitted disease, Gonzalo Paternoster of Florida-based SSP BioAnalytics said ahead of the launch of the Safe Sex Passport on December 1, World AIDS Day.

"The idea popped into my head that people know but don't tell the truth, and we needed an independent way to verify someone's health status,
" he told AFP.

The Safe Sex Passport will be available -- at a cost -- to anyone over the age of 18 who goes online and orders the credit-card-size article.

How To Beat "Dating Deja Vu" From Yahoo! Personals

Yahoo! Personals has a great article offering five tips on how to beat "Dating Deja Vu". Here are the five tips:

  1. Be self-observant. Ask yourself, after you've gotten to know someone, what are the traits in them that you were initially drawn to? It's likely that these are the very aspects of the person that bother you -- ones that you say you don't want in another relationship.
  2. Be analytical. What issues from your childhood does this person reflect?
  3. Consider doing some personal work. By working on whatever the unresolved issue is for you, it will no longer need as much attention through someone else.
  4. Be aware. Everything you want to know about someone is there right in the beginning. you just have to pay close attention and not be blinded by your emotions. That's why your friends can see a trait that you might not.
  5. Work it through. Is the overall relationship a good one? Remember that everyone has issues. If each of you learns to accept and respect the issues of the other person, the relationship can be quite healing for both of you.

The Cyber (Dating) Age

The Independent Florida Alligator has an interesting article lamenting what technology has done to our dating lives and even our masturbation habits... Here's an excerpt from the article - There is nothing that defines relationships and sex for this generation more than Facebook.

Where else can you befriend, message, research and stalk all in a virtual reality that some of us take more seriously than actual reality? Think about it: changing one's relationship status on Facebook is the ultimate in going steady - it has replaced the letterman jacket and varsity pin.

While technology today has affected and fostered a slew of relationships, I can't help but wonder if all this technological interference is serving to help or hamper modern love.

Friendfinder Not Sold Yet (Or So The Rumor Goes)

As I reported a few days ago, there's a rumor going around that the FriendFinder Network had been sold for a billion dollars or something like that. But, according to OnlinePersonalsWatch.com's Mark Brooks, whom I trust when it comes to online dating news, this rumor may not be true. He has an interesting exchange with FriendFinder's founder, Andrew Conru via his Blackberry. Read the exchange on OnlinePersonalsWatch.com. As I hear more on this story, I'll keep you up-to-date...

From Boursonews.com - "SpeedDater is launching a brand new event, Purple Sky Club, to introduce fifty young bachelorettes to fifty highly successful entrepreneurs and millionaires. The event will be held in a top secret Leicester Square penthouse location.

It’s no secret that women are attracted to success and confidence. That’s why we’ve selected fifty single, successful and confident men, all below forty years old and all above average in the looks department. On Friday 7th December these bachelors will be laying on an event to rival any Christmas party. The only thing missing is the girls.

Purple Sky Club is seeking fifty ladies to join the bachelors for what promises to be a night to remember. It’s totally free to girls but they must apply by email through the website www.purpleskyclub.com with three recent photos stating why they should be invited to the party. The final fifty will be invited by the bachelors to attend the party at the secret penthouse location." To continue reading, please go to this page on Boursonews.com.

My thoughts:

With the popularity of Sugar Daddy dating sites at an all-time high, I think it's the right idea at the right time.

With New Search Tech, Dating Matt Damon Just Got Easier

From TechNewsWorld.com - "Startup ActiveSymbols is working on making a name for itself in the next generation of search technology: the ability to upload a photo of an object and use that image to search for images of similar objects. It works on faces, too. The concept could have applications in everything from e-commerce to surveillance. For now, though, the company is demonstrating its technology, called "Eyealike," on the online dating scene."

My thoughts:

This is pretty cool. I tried it out. Basically, you can do a couple of things on the Eyealike website. First, if you want to date someone who looks like your favorite celebrity, then you can do a search for singles who look like that particular celebrity. The service will search over 300,000 images scraped from Match and AmericanSingles. More images are supposed to be added in the future from other dating services as well.

The other thing you can do on the site is submit your photo and the service will find the celebrity you resemble the most. Then, other singles searching for people who look like their favorite celeb will be able to find you. In theory, this is a pretty cool application.

We'll see how it pans out over time.

Good luck and happy dating to you all!
