Mutual Arrangements Makes Huge Splash in Sugar Daddy Dating

PRWEB) September 28, 2009 -- MutualArrangements.com thundered into the world of Sugar Daddy Dating recently, celebrating its Grand Opening. The fast growing site, which already boasts tens of thousands of members in the U.S. and worldwide, is based in Miami Beach, FL, widely known as a hub for wealthy men and gorgeous women.

The site's launch follows two years of careful research, planning and development. Mutual Network CEO Donald Hobbs commented, "Sugar Daddy Dating is one of the hottest and most popular trends in the online dating marketplace, and we believe that we've done a thorough job of studying the market and incorporating the best online features into Mutual Arrangements."

Sugar Daddy Dating is a spin on "wealthy dating" sites - focusing on generous benefactors, known as Sugar Daddies and Sugar Mommies, who are looking to pamper and spoil younger single women and men, known as Sugar Babies. The Sugar Daddy Dating niche has been receiving lots of attention recently, with features on such high-profile media outlets as The New York Times, Dr. Phil, 20/20 and more.

Hobbs continued, "We have been overwhelmed by how many of our site's visitors quickly become our newest members. We believe that to be a tribute to Mutual Arrangements' ease of use, the right mix of features for our members, and a genuine demand in the market for a reputable, trustworthy Sugar Daddy site. We're just excited to be here, and our members seem to be as well!"

Hobbs and his team have a combined 23 years of experience in the world of online matchmaking sites, but this is their first foray into the Sugar Daddy Dating niche. "What our experience has taught us is that members expect websites they trust to be totally secure with their personal information", Hobbs said. "They don't want pop-up ads in their face or the risk of picking up an online virus. And they want prompt, responsive customer service when they have questions."

Membership is free at Mutual Arrangements, with additional features available for Premium members. All basic memberships allow users to fill out information about themselves, search for other users in the extensive database, "wink" at other members, post up to 5 photos of themselves, and write an extensive introduction about themselves if they wish - all for free!

'Cougar' Label Not Such An Insult Anymore

Over the last couple of years, dating sites geared towards Sugar Daddies, Sugar Mommies and Cougars have really started coming in to their own. An article from FayObserver.com titled 'Cougar' Label Not Such An Insult Anymore sheds some light into why using the term 'Cougar' isn't so socially unacceptable anymore. Here's an excerpt from the article:

"Cougar Town," starring Courteney Cox, debuted Wednesday on ABC. The comedy, which examines dating and aging, is based on the life of a divorced woman who dives back into the singles scene.

Hollywood barely blinked when 43-year-old actress Halle Berry cozied up with model Gabriel Autry, who is 33, and had a daughter with him. And viewers tuned into "The Cougar," a reality show on TV Land where a 40-year-old woman picked a suitor from a crop of younger men.

While the "cougar" term often carries a negative connotation, society may be changing its tune. As the notion becomes more accepted, the stereotype of the middle-aged woman preying upon young boys - while fighting the inevitable aging process - may be less prevalent.

Cox, who is 45, said she could relate to the character she plays on "Cougar Town." She considers herself to be a cougar, too. Her husband, actor David Arquette, is 38.

"I am a cougar!" Cox told People magazine. "I don't take offense to the word. David's much younger than me, and he loves older women. I mean, why not date someone younger if you can?"

Hollywood couples such as Demi Moore, 47, and Ashton Kutcher, 31, have shown that relationships with major age gaps can be successful and even lead to marriage.

The term "cougar" is slowly evolving into a term of empowerment in today's pop culture.

What You Should and (Should Not) Show In Your Online Dating Photos

Here's an interesting article from Examiner.com. It offers up some tips on what people should and should not see in your online dating profiles. In a nutshell, unless you're wanting to attract guys who are after one thing and one thing only, it's not a good idea to feature a revealing cleavage shot in your profile picture. Likewise guys, if you're truly trying to find a new girlfriend, don't include pictures of yourself without your shirt and your pants pulled down to almost obscene levels. To read all the tips they offer up, go to this page on Examiner.com.

If you really are trying to find your soul mate online, we recommend either PerfectMatch.com, eharmony.com, SinglesOnTheNet.com or Yahoo! Personals. Good luck and please use some common sense when posting photos online...

Michael Phelps Is Dating Anti-Gay Marriage 2009 Miss USA Runner-Up Carrie Prejean

Well, you knew it wouldn't take long for Michael Phelps to put himself back in the spotlight. The smoke, no pun intended, is barely evaporated from his dope smoking incident, and now he's reportedly dating the beautiful and very controversial 2009 Miss USA runner-up who made anti-gay marriage comments during the recent Miss USA pageant. Here's the scoop from AceShowBiz.com:

14-times Olympic gold medal winner Michael Phelps reportedly is dating 2009 Miss USA runner-up Carrie Prejean. The first media which brings the news to public's notice is Radar Online, claiming in an exclusive report on its site that Carrie's grandmother Jeanette Coppolla has confirmed the twosome's love relationship.

"Carrie and Michael have been out to baseball games and lunch," Jeanette says in a statement. "He always calls her when he is in town and they go out." Jeanette goes on revealing, "Carrie knows that he has dated a lot of girls but she enjoys going out with him and isn't serious about being in a relationship with him," adding that "he's a nice guy and she likes him."

Western Men No Longer A Prize To Chinese Women

Here's something I would have never thought of. Due to the unstable economy here in the states, only about 16% of Chinese women say they're interested in an Western man. This is sharply down from the 40% who used to be looking for a Western suitor. This data comes from a recent article from the Asia Times Online called In China, White Man Loses Mojo. Here's an excerpt from the article:

According to two recent nationwide surveys by the matchmaking website hongniang.com, mainland women keen on finding a foreign partner plunged from 42% to 16% over the past year.

For that dramatic decline, you can blame the financial crisis, which has made Western society - especially its male avatars - look unstable to Chinese women considering their romantic (which tends to be intimately linked to their financial) future.

The decline of the white man's mojo had been evident in Hong Kong since the handover from British rule in 1997, with dating services reporting that it is rare these days for Chinese women in the city to seek a Western partner. While the British ruled and ensconced themselves in posh homes on Victoria Peak and other exclusive areas in Hong Kong, there was often a cachet attached to dating a Westerner, especially an Englishman.

But that era has passed, as has any sense of Chinese inferiority. Economically, Hong Kong, a city of seven million people, caught up with its Western counterparts well before the handover. Using the Atlas method of calculation, Hong Kong's per capita income as of 2007 was US$31,610, according to the World Bank.

Homosexual Harmony or Violation of Scripture?

Christian members of eharmony are very upset over eharmony's decision to create a dating site specifically for gay and lesbian singles. The site is called CompatiblePartners.net, and it's sparked a tremendous amount of controversy within the eharmony universe. Here's a little excerpt from an article in the Chicago Tribune called Homosexual Harmony or Violation of Scripture?

eHarmony, the online dating service that matches its members based on patented compatibility research, launched the Web site CompatiblePartners.net this month as part of a settlement with the New Jersey attorney general’s office. The settlement stemmed from a complaint filed by a gay New Jersey man who alleged eHarmony violated the state’s anti-discrimination law by not pairing same-sex couples.

As part of the settlement reached in November, eHarmony agreed to offer CompatiblePartners.net, market it in gay media and reel in the first 10,000 singles by registering them for free.

Paul Breton, a spokesman for eHarmony, cautions that charter members of CompatiblePartners.net are not as scientifically guaranteed to find marital bliss because same-sex matches made so far are based on the company’s research regarding heterosexual couples. The gay singles that sign up are essentially guinea pigs, he said.

“We haven’t done that level of research at this point,” he said. “It’s using the exact same matching models.”

Breton explained that eHarmony’s matching models take the qualities of happily married couples and apply those to singles. According to the company, algorithms that weigh and combine 29 different dimensions of compatibility—fundamental values, personality traits and interests—can predict the success of certain relationships. Spirituality is one of those dimensions, Breton said. But he wouldn’t reveal how high it ranks.

Online Dating Is Up - Divorce Is Down

Well, there is one good thing about the recession we're in: Couples are staying together and weathering the storm rather than jumping ship. Here's the scoop from an article entitled Recessions Change Love Statistics, Too:

Is it true that misery loves company?

Just look at the trends.

Divorce lawyers say business is down. Online dating sites are experiencing double-digit growth.

So in this troubling economy, it appears love really does conquer all, right?

Not exactly.

Struggling couples are are staying together for love and money while singles are looking for romance and half the rent.

“I've had clients joke about how they need a double-income household,” said Lisa Purdum, a matchmaker for It's Just Lunch in San Diego.

While the number of divorce filings has been steady over the past couple of years, local divorce attorneys are seeing slower business. According to the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, 37 percent of its members said they typically see a decrease divorce cases during national economic downturns.

Later in the article:
Online dating sites such as eHarmony.com and Perfectmatch.com have seen business increase dramatically during the downturn. At eHarmony, registrations from September 2008 to January 2009 have increased 20 percent from the same period a year ago.

The worse the economic news, the more people seem to seek out love, Gonzaga said. For instance, on days the Dow dropped by 100 points or more, eHarmony saw an increase in the number of pages people viewed on its site compared with days when the Dow increased by 100 points or more.

Perfectmatch.com has found a similar trend. In the fourth quarter, when the Dow plummeted, revenue increased 42 percent from the previous quarter and the number of registrants jumped by 62 percent.

The sites attribute part of the increased interest to the fact that people are staying home to save money and spending more time on their computers. Finding someone online is simply more cost-effective than paying for overpriced drinks at a bar.

Duane Dahl, CEO of Perfectmatch.com, called relationships and online dating "one of those air-and-water categories that is never going to go away."

But Shoshana Grossbard, an economics professor at San Diego State University, isn't so sure that all those online daters are looking for marriage. She said marriage typically loses its allure during tough economic times. During the early years of the Great Depression, for instance, the number of marriages dropped from 1,233,000 in 1929 to 982,000 in 1932, a 20 percent decline. So far in San Diego County, marriage numbers have remained strong, however, perhaps buoyed in part by a flurry of gay marriages last year.
